Guided tour of Istanbul's historic peninsula — the magnificent Topkapi Palace and Harem, once residence of Ottoman sultans; the awe-inspiring Hagia Sophia, a marvel of Byzantine architecture; the elegant Blue Mosque with its six minarets and stunning Iznik tiles; the Hippodrome where Roman chariot races took place; and the Grand Bazaar, one of the world's oldest covered markets.

Morning visit to the vibrant Spice Market and the beautifully decorated Rüstem Pasha Mosque. Continue to the Gallipoli Peninsula — significant World War I sites including ANZAC Cove, Chunuk Bair, and Lone Pine Cemetery. Cross the Dardanelles Strait by ferry to Çanakkale.

Visit the legendary city of Troy — 9 layers of civilisation and the replica of the famous Trojan Horse. Continue south to Pergamon and its ancient medical centre, the Asklepion. Arrive in the coastal town of Kuşadası for dinner.

Visit the Basilica and Tomb of St John.

Visit Aphrodisias, an ancient city of art dedicated to Goddess Aphrodite. Continue to Laodicea, one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. Arrive at Pamukkale — world-renowned white calcium travertine terraces. Explore Hierapolis with its necropolis and Pluto's Gate. Option to swim in mineral-rich thermal pools.

Visit Çatalhöyük, one of the earliest known urban settlements (7400–6200 BC) with preserved wall paintings, reliefs, and religious shrines. Continue to Konya and the Mevlana Museum, dedicated to the 13th-century Sufi mystic Rumi — Whirling Dervish costumes, manuscripts, and mystical traditions of Sufism.

Drive to Cappadocia's surreal volcanic landscape. Visit an underground city (Derinkuyu or Özkonak) where early Christians sought refuge — ventilation shafts, churches, even wineries carved deep underground. Continue to panoramic viewpoints at Uçhisar and Ortahisar rock citadels. Visit a traditional carpet workshop to witness centuries-old Anatolian weaving.

Journey off the usual paths to remote rock-cut monasteries. Visit Zelve Valley's ancient cave dwellings, the striking fairy chimneys of Paşabağ (Monks Valley), and the UNESCO-listed Göreme Open Air Museum with beautifully preserved frescoed cave churches. Visit Avanos, historically Cappadocia's pottery centre on the Red River. Optional sunrise hot air balloon ride.
